John Adams
HBO's recent miniseries "John Adams" was compelling, giving viewers a glimpse into the often tragic life of the United State's second president.
The writing was crisp and insightful, but it was the acting of the underrated Paul Giamatti as John Adams that made the series work.
Laura Linney's rendition of Abigail Adams and Stephen Dillane's Thomas Jefferson were carefully crafted performances that colorfully illustrated Colonial New England, the streets of Philadelphia and Paris, venues of prominence as America established its independence.
As a history lesson, it doesn't get much better than this.
If you missed it, it's well worth the time in your DVD queue.
This was an excellent miniseries. It is amazing how far we've come.

Gwen: agreed. Glad I'm living in the 21st century.
Poppy: You kind of remind me of a passionate patriot.
