Happy Birthday
We celebrated Chloe's birthday this weekend and, of course, made a big deal about it.
After Saturday festivities that included a few hours at Davis Farm and opening presents at home, she asked us as we were putting her to bed, "Is it still my birthday?"
Yes, of course.
But on Sunday, after a few hours at the park and some quality time at home, she asked again, "Is it still my birthday?"
It got me thinking.
A birthday is the calendar event to celebrate that we're alive and well. But we should celebrate every day as our birthday.
It doesn't mean that every day we blow out candles or, as we get older, twist the cork off a good bottle of wine. What it does mean is that we should recognize each and every day we're alive as special, that we're here to live and breathe the air, to support others, to make a difference, to entertain ourselves.
Happy Birthday is a state of mind.
Good thought for the day.:)
