Paper Clips

They lie on desks.

They hang out in boxes.

They keep contextual information together.

They magnetically cling to each other in cup-like structures.

Traditionally they are silver, but have shown diversity and openness to other colors.

Nervous people open them up for no reason, creating sharp objects, compromising their purpose.

You can find them in garbage cans.

They lie unattended without purpose on a copy machine.

If they're lucky, they live a long life, holding documents together in a forgotten folder in a filing cabinet.

Sometimes they are part of a necklace, clearly an indication there's too much free time somewhere. Or a child is on the premises.
