So we "camped out" over the weekend on air mattresses in the screen room, listening to Edgar Allen Poe's "The Tell-Tale Heart" and W.W. Jacobs' "The Monkey's Paw."
After a rousing night swim and some snacks, we played the chilling short stories about a crazy man obsessing about a beating heart buried underneath his floorboards and the curse of three wishes.
Yeah, quite scary, especially for the little person who lives in our house.
It may not have been Orson Welles and his Mercury Theatre broadcast, but for us it was just as good.
