In New England, does anyone really care about the Red Sox?
There's very little murmer of the Red Sox this summer. At pool parties and in the office, no one is talking about the Red Sox.
The Red Sox simply seem irrelevant.
People would rather talk about Aly Raisman and shark attacks in Truro.
It has a lot to do with last September's collapse, the team going 7-20 in the final month to miss the playoffs by a game. For the millions of fans who followed the highly touted Red Sox all season, that was a jab in the gut.
So what's the remedy?
A 20-7 September could bring back the chatter.
But that just doesn't seem logical.
Then again, this is baseball.
