Agree totally. It's the first form of "weather as entertainment" whose heirs we see on Channel 4,5, and 7 today. I keep telling my mother to go get a weather radio -- three days of weather, reliable, no BS. The funny thing is the newsstations use the same source data as my weather radio but manage to somehow take the right information and turn it into wrong information between the time they get it and the time they put it on the air.

That said, I still buy a copy of the Farmer's Almanac for a stocking stuffer every year, because it's damn fine bathroom reading if you know it's totally fake.
