They're in your face, constant reminders of dangling action items, pressing against your forehead with vice-grip persistence.
Deadlines are constant, random, sometimes predictable, sometimes not.
When they are met, others arise. The architect of deadlines is, of course, time itself. With hour, minute and second hands whirring in circular motion, the deadlines approach like a ship on the horizon, rhythmically moving with the tide.
Deadlines are constant. Deadlines drive business. Without deadlines, nothing gets done.
What makes deadlines seem luminous and a bit scary is the word itself. Deadlines. Clearly, it's a word that can have negative connotations. But this is what prompts us to move forward, to meet our goals, to respect the clock, to exceed expectations.
The time is now. Just do it.
