So, in an effort to make sure our daughter grows up into a cool person, I've been playing her different music each night on the good stereo system.
Here's what she's listened to so far:
Jethro Tull, "Living in the Past"
Joni Mitchell, "All I Want" and "A Case of You"
Beach Boys, "The Warmth of the Sun" and "Good Vibrations"
Elton John, "Tiny Dancer"
Aimee Mann, "Dear John" and "I Can't Get My Head Around It"
Anandi, "Forever Days"
Verve Pipe, "Colorful"
Liz Phair, "Why Can't I?" and "It's Sweet"
So far, she seems to like everything (she seemed a little sleepy with the Joni Mitchell), her arms stretched out with her eyes dancing to the music.
The plan is to move her more into some traditional rock (Led Zeppelin, The Who, ZZ Top), but we're starting on the mellow end.
She's going to be one cool kid.
What about opera, classical, jazz, blues, bigband, Broadway shows, Lawrence Welk?

Hmm. Because I dislike most of that kind of music, with the exception of some blues -- like Charles Brown and Johnny Winter.

And you turned out just fine Dan! Stick to your guns.
