I would have to agree with you but to be fair to the French their wines are much more subtle. My taste buds for wines have gotten used to the stronger, fruitier, and more "robust" flavors of California wines.

No question, Liz. It's just a matter of taste. While I like French reds now and then, my first choice more often than not would come from California. I guess I'm a fruit-forward kind of guy.
