When I was a kid, our big treat was a Twirl.
This chocolate-marshmallow cookie was the highlight of the day. Mom seemed to always have a box of Twirls in the cupboard or on the top of the frig (to deter easy access).
You'd bite into one of these cookies, and you'd get a little resistance from the chocolate shell, before easing into the marshmallow center. They were larger than your average cookie, so you never had more than one.
I think they came like 12 to a pack, so it was easy to take inventory at the end of the day.
If you ate a Twirl in the Miller household growing up in the '60s, everyone knew about it.
