Today we close the pool.
No more after-work swims.
No more Saturday and Sunday pauses to refresh.
No more pulling frogs and baby turtles from the skimmer.
No more $400 electric bills.
No more worries about the toddler toddling poolside.
No more vacuuming and measuring chemical balance.
At least until May.
Summer is almost over. Get out the snowshovels.

As much as I covet the pool you have, I don't all the upkeep & expense. Just the same I'd trade our condo pool for one of my own in a heartbeat. A dream of mine is to someday have an indoor pool. (My spouse looks dubious on the occassions that I mention this.)
Pool closing day makes me wistful...soon I will have to put my top up, too.
