I know the feeling. I have twin girls. However, you really shouldn't blame the server. I wasn't there, but it sounds to me like the restaurant wasn't prepared for the volume it was receiving. I would blame that squarely on the management who didn't staff properly. To bad you had to wait...

No, I wouldn't say "the poor oppressed worker bee" is always correct, but I would say that it very easy to blame the server. Unless you have spent some time in a servers shoes you might want to cut them some slack.
