The Champagne Jam of an undefeated season still belongs to just one team — the 1972 Miami Dolphins.
The New England Patriots were a great team this season — a 16-0 regular-season record and a week-in, week-out fireworks display of offense — but they couldn't win the big game.
History will look back at the 2007 Patriots as a talented team that commanded the highest point spreads, but clearly one who couldn't get it done when it truly mattered.
The Super Bowl is the crowning achievement, the summit of gridiron glory, and today all of the accolades go to the New York Giants.
Kudos Tom Coughlin, Eli Manning and the rest of the men in blue.
UGH. Giants are lucky. Can't believe how they won this game.

Perhaps, Scott, perhaps.
We'll have to check the film.

Dave, luck may have played a part, just as it did for NE for the latter half of the regular season. The G-Men, for the most part, however dominated the line of scrimmage. That was not luck. That was desire!

I agree that the Giants seemed to want it just a little more than the Pats did, and that ended up being the difference in the game.

McConkey and Wefo - the Giants were just tougher up front and, like you said, wanted it more. Tough loss for the Patriots as what they've done all season is clearly tainted.
