One of the freshman students coming to Berkeley, Boston - next week is a friend of mine from here in Edmonds, WA.

Elaine - Berkeley is a great school. Ah to be a freshman again. The world awaits...

You mean Berklee, right? As in College of Music? Berkeley's on that other coast.

Yes, great school, but all of their students carry noisemakers, which they're encouraged to practice day and night. THAT's where the freshman learning curve comes in -- what's music to one person can be noise to another, especially in the city, in the wee hours of the morning. Once they get that, they're welcome.

Boston truly has some excellent universities. A number of my h.s. chums went there from their native Connecticut. I went to UConn but dated a guy who went to school to be an aircraft mechanic at Wentworth Institute in Boston. Ah, memories.

D - yes, Berklee. Aimee Mann's alma mater.

Cyn - whatever happened to the aircraft mechanic?
