So after shooting a 49 over nine-hole tract (good for me) to begin my golf season, I go out and shoot a score not worthy of publication.
What is it about this game?
That soft, simple swing turns into a swing that resembles chopping wood.
The upright, confident posture slinks into one that resembles Quasimodo.
The 4's and 5's quickly turn into 7's and 8's.
The confidence wanes.
The fairways turn to rough.
The putts veer to the left.
But the day is bright and sunny. And with a tee time in a few days, I know what to work on.
The beauty of this game is that you're always welcome back.
The fluidity of my swing will return. The shots will be crisp and the putts will fall.
Like any relationship, you figure it out.
